The UK Government has announced the end of the Covid-19 Visa Extensions.
Currently, any person in the UK, whose leave expires between 24 January 2020 and 31 July 2020, can extend their visas, if they cannot leave the UK due to travel restrictions or self-isolation.
However, this is not an automatic process, and the person needs to apply at the Home Office for the extension.
The Home Office has now confirmed that they do not intend to extend this visa extension policy beyond 31 July 2020. This means that any person who is in the UK with an expired visa and no pending UK visa application will have to depart the UK by 31 July 2020.
Breytenbachs is closely monitoring the developments in this regard and will update clients if we receive any further information.
