Breytenbachs have a mixed bag of news on the Immigration Health Surcharge.
An increase from 1 October 2020
From 1 October 2020, the Immigration Health Surcharge will increase from the current £400 per applicant per year to £624 per applicant per year.
There is however also some good news.
The discounted rate for students and persons on the Youth Mobility Scheme, will be set at £470 per year.
The Home Office will also introduce a new discounted rate for all children under the age of 18 years old. This rate will be £470 per child per year.
Exemptions for NHS, Health and Social Care Staff
Breytenbachs also have some good news for NHS workers, and health and social care staff. The Prime Minister has announced that migrant workers in these sectors will henceforth be exempted from paying the Immigration Health Surcharge.
