Many clients are eagerly awaiting the reopening of the Visa Application Centres worldwide, to submit their applications, or for their applications to proceed. We are glad to inform clients that it seems that more and more centres are reopening as we move into a more progressive stage of relaxing social restriction imposed by Covid-19. We hope that all services will be fully operational within the next few weeks. Breytenbachs will update clients with new information as it becomes available. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance.
UK Visa Application Centres in the UK
Good news for UK visa applicants is that from 1 June 2020, some UK Visa and Citizenship Application Centres (UKVCAS) will reopen for existing clients. These reopening will first accommodate clients who had pre-existing appointments that were cancelled during the lockdown.
Sopra Steria, the authorised partner of the UK Visas and Citizenship Application Services, said that they will review their approach regularly, and will assess when they are open to more appointments.
The following points will be open in the UK from 1 June 2020;
- Birmingham Premium Lounge
- London Mark Lane Premium Lounge
- London Victoria
- Manchester Fountain Street Enhanced Service Point
- Manchester Premium Lounge
UK Visa Application Centres outside the UK
Globally, some Visa Application Centres are now resuming their services depending, of course, on each respective country. Please contact your Breytenbachs consultant to confirm whether the Visa Application Centre in your home country is open yet.
We expect the UK Visa Application Centres in South Africa to reopen on 1 June 2020 but will confirm.
Tuberculosis Test Centres
South African clients applying for UK visas for periods longer than six months have to do a TB test and submit the test with their visa application.
We are glad to inform Southern African clients that the TB test centres are open again to book test and take tests.
English Test Centres
If you need to take an English test for a UK visa application, you will be relieved to hear that some English Test Centres are also reopening.
Please contact your Breytenbachs consultant to find out whether the English Test Centres in your home country is open yet, we will be glad to assist.
What can I do if the Visa Application Centre in my country is not open yet?
Most UK Visa Application Centres are still closed for new applications and as such, the processing time i.e decision of these applications will be placed on hold until applicants are able to attend their biometric appointments. We are pleased to confirm, however, that we at Breytenbachs are still preparing applications, reviewing documents and making online submissions, as usual, as once the application has been submitted online, it is then just a matter of attending an appointment provided the centres have reopened in full.
As Sopra Steria now seem to be taking steps to slowly reopen as the UK Government move onto the next phase of relaxing social restrictions, we strongly recommend that clients now, rather than later, take pro-active steps and plan to prepare their application in the meantime. This will ensure that they are in the best position once the visa services have resumed for bookings.
If you are considering making a UK visa application, contact us without delay. Keep in mind that it can take between 4 – 8 weeks to prepare a UK visa application.
We will be able to assist and prepare the full application. As soon as the visa centres open for new applications, we can submit your application. We do not require any of your original documents but will work with scanned/electronic copies of your documentation.
We foresee that the UK visa application centres will be inundated with new applications when they open. It is, therefore, to be ready to lodge your application as soon as they open.
