Financially Independent

If you are financially independent, you can qualify to apply for SA Permanent Residence. You can qualify if the main applicant can show a net worth equivalent to R12 000 000.

Once the application has been adjudicated by the SA visa offices, before the actual permit is issued, the applicant must pay a once-off SA administrative fee equivalent to R120,000 to the SA authorities.  Once the fee payment has been made, the permanent residence permit will be issued. The applicant can then reside in SA as a permanent residence holder.  It is important to note that this adjudication process for the financially independent application takes a while. You can expect a wait which is normally at least 4 – 5 years.
